The Stump of Jesse is a small Catholic gift shop, run by Marlene Amparan.
Marlene lives in The Woodlands, TX with her husband and her two boys. She specializes in prayer journals, the Jesse tree, stickers, prints, and t-shirts. All of the items in her shop are inspired through prayer and her desire to share the faith.

Dr. Amy J. Cattapan is an author, speaker, and middle school English teacher from the Chicago area. Her books include Sweet Jesus, Is It June Yet (Ave Maria Press), as well as two award-winning novels for young readers: Angelhood and 7 Riddles to Nowhere. Cattapan earned a bachelor’s degree in English Education (Marquette University) and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction (Loyola University Chicago). Her writing has appeared in children’s magazines as well as Chicken Soup for the Soul books. She is a regular contributor to the Homeschooling Saints Podcast and the host of Cath-Lit Live! John J. Spitzer, M.D., a native of Salem, New Jersey, moved with his family to Cali, Colombia, at age six. After finishing elementary and high school in Colombia, he returned to the United States to pursue his education in medicine. He is a practicing pediatrician in private practice and also a clinical assistant professor in pediatric medicine at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with his wife, Anne, and has two young adult children, Tim and Patty. He enjoys running, soccer, and reading.

Joanne Carey Haid received her BA degree from Rutgers College in French and Political Science. She studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, France and holds a business certificate for International Commerce from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and is recognized as a lifetime member of Cambridge Who’s Who of Successful Women in Business. She received her education in dance at the Mason Gross School of the Arts and studied in the master’s program for Dance Education at New York University as well as in theater at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City where she earned an AOA degree in acting and theater. She also is an ABT Certified Teacher for Pre-Primary through Level 3, successfully passing her exams through American Ballet Theater’s National Teacher Training Curriculum Certification in Ballet. Joanne has spent over 30 years in the dance field first as a performer and then 23 years as owner and artistic director of her own dance school being voted in 2020 as Best of the Best in Children’s Dance Schools. Those who meet her are moved by her authenticity, compassion, kindness, and her profound generosity of heart and say that reading her writing is like having a conversation with a good and trusted friend. When she is not writing or dancing you can find her volunteering!

Amy Schisler – I write for the glory of God.

Amy has been writing all of her life as an author and freelance writer. Her first children’s book, Crabbing With Granddad, is an autobiographical work about spending a day harvesting the Maryland Blue Crab. Amy’s debut novel, A Place to Call Home, was released in 2014. Picture Me, A Mystery, published in 2015, was the winner of an Illumination Bronze Award as one of the top Christian eBooks of 2015. Amy’s critically acclaimed novel, Whispering Vines, published in 2016, was awarded an Illumination Award for Christian Romance as well as the LYRA for the best ebook romance of 2016. Amy’s Chincoteague Island Trilogy won numerous awards including the Illumination Award, a Catholic Press Honor, and the Oklahoma Romance Writer’s Award for Best Inspirational Fiction Book as well as six other national literary awards. Her most recent works include the Buffalo Springs series and The Good Wine, the sequel to Whispering Vines. Amy lives with her husband and daughters on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she leads Bible studies and volunteers for her parish.
