Catholic Instagrammers are bringing Evangelization to a Whole New Level
We have found some of the best Catholic Instagrammers out there – making reels and creating content that is inspirational, educational and entertaining.
Plus, these reels won’t disturb your virtue radar either.
Some Catholic small business owners are making reels to help them both evangelize and earn an income.
Catholics on Instagram are creating reels that:
help Moms feeling stressed know that in the midst of chaos, prayer is possible;
provide ideas that will get the little ones to pray with you;
allow you to support small Catholic businesses and find that perfect gift
remind you that your home truly is a domestic church
give tips on how to market your ministry and your faith
These are just some Catholics who remind the Instagram user that faith and prayer are still a vital part of living. Make sure you click on these accounts and give them a follow!

One task that Our Lord Jesus left to us is to evangelize.
Saint John Paul II once stated:
“No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples.”
The way we do this can look differently. Many of us are now using social media to proclaim the Gospel. One of the most effective ways to use social media is with Instagram. And the method that is reaching the largest audience on Instagram right now is the “reels” option.
We want to encourage you to use this tool and resource! In fact, we created a free “cheat sheet” for you . . .which you can get right here:
Why use Instagram Reels for a Catholic Ministry or Business?

“For ministries who may be hesitant to try Reels, I totally get it. Putting yourself out there in that way requires a lot of vulnerability and humility! I’d encourage you to give it a shot and just try one. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but just adapt something really popular for your audience into a simple video and see what happens! Reels are unequivocally the way to reach the most people right now on Instagram – and isn’t that what you want to do, reach as many people as you can with the message God has placed on your heart?”
2. Reels are fun and we are called to be joyful saints!
This reason is, in part, inspired by Saint Teresa of Avila.
“From silly devotions and sour-faced saints, good Lord, deliver us!”
Saint Teresa of Avila has been quoted to also state, “A sad nun is a bad nun … I am more afraid of one unhappy sister than a crowd of evil spirits … What would happen if we hid what little sense of humor we had? Let each of us humbly use this to cheer others.”
Maria Schuster, a Catholic Virtual Assistant, says this about using reels:
“Through the reels feature, viewers have the opportunity to get to know the person behind the brand! It is a fun way to show your face and share a bit more of your personality. Reels can feel a bit more interactive, even if you don’t want to video yourself! Finally, utilizing reels is a great way to reach a wider audience and evangelize to people you may not have reached through static posts!”

3. You are doing AMAZING work! More people need to know about it!
Whether you are blogging about how you incorporate your faith in Jesus Christ into your daily life, creating Catholic products or podcasting about the Saints – your are encouraging others to embrace the love of Christ in their lives! This is the most beautiful work we can do as Christians!
Instagram has over 1 billion active users.
The majority of those users are between the ages of 18 and 34.
If you are still not convinced that reels are something you should try, I’ll leave you with words from our resident Instagram expert, Molly Balint:
“It’s rare that I tell my clients to jump in quickly on a new feature that IG rolls out. But Reels are different. Right now, Instagram is favoring Reels. When you create a Reel, it’s not only being seen by your current audience, it’s getting in front of tons of people that don’t follow you—aka NEW people to attract to your account! If your goal is growth on Instagram you should absolutely be using them and prioritizing them in your strategy. And don’t let fear or wanting them to be perfect hold you back! Jump in, imperfectly and go for it! I promise they get easier every time! And it’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss!”
