In full disclosure, I was sent a copy of each of these books in exchange for an honest review.  I highly recommend each of them!

The Rosary is a beautiful devotion, but it can also be an intimidating one.

I’ve been praying for decades, and still the Apostle’s Creed can become the Nicene Creed and that last prayer, well, I think I finally have it memorized.

Then, some people add different prayers at the end.  Some only pray the Sorrowful Mysteries, and so on and so on.

So, if you give someone a Rosary, it’s a good idea to pair it with a guide on how to pray the Rosary.

7 Perfect Occasions to Gift a Rosary

My husband and oldest son recently joined the Troops of Saint George. One of their mottos or pillars is that a gentleman should always carry a pocket knife, a pencil and a Rosary.

I believe carrying a Rosary is something important.  Now, I probably don’t have one on me but as I write this I realize, that has to change.

I remember working with a fellow teacher who once told me she always has a Rosary in her purse.  I can’t remember how or why that came up in conversation, but what I do remember is shortly after we had this talk, a tragic accident occurred where this woman was hit by a car.  It’s a miracle she lived.  Many of her bones were broken, and I don’t think she ever came back to work.

When I heard about how bad the accident was, I recalled that Lucille (that is my former co-worker and fellow teacher’s name) always carried a Rosary.

I personally believe that Rosary kept her alive that day. And she is still living and walking again today.

I know we are often tempted to think we – or our loved ones – don’t need another Rosary.

But, maybe another Rosary is exactly what we do need.

If you have ever wanted to give someone a Rosary, but felt awkward or wondered, when would be a good time or occasion to give someone a Rosary, we have a few ideas of when this would make total sense!

11 Ways to Quit Making Excuses and Pray the Rosary

This post is written by Amy Brooks, author of the blog Prayer, Wine, Chocolate, and founder of Catholics Online.

pray the rosary

Confession: I don’t pray the Rosary every day.  I am pretty sure if I did, I’d be happy about it, but I am the queen of excuses.

I am busy.

I don’t have a 20 minute chunk of time.

My family needs me.  Continue reading “11 Ways to Quit Making Excuses and Pray the Rosary”
